Dinner at Kingsbury

There are two reasons I have not been posting the last one and half weeks. Lazyness and lack of posts. I have been lazy to carry my camera and go out and take a few photos. Anyway I thought although I did not carry my camera that I should at least take a few photos from my phone. Last evening we went to Kingsbury Hotel with our friends for dinner. Kingsbury is the old Intercontinenetal Hotel that has been half renovated under a brand new management. Rule no. 1 don't try out a hotel that is half renovated. We decided to go for the 5 course sit down dinner with Champagne instead of the buffet. We sat in the new terrace section and the ambiance was really nice (over looking the sea). The company and the conversation was entertaining. BUT as usual we encountered service issues. Why do we keep bumping into untrained staff?? The time between the courses took so so long that we got sick of waiting. Add to that my friends who ordered the vegetarian meal did not get one entire course! Suddenly I realized they were getting their sorbet before us. I took the set menu to check and I told my friend that they missed an entire course. They gave us extra desert and chocolate on the house for this but it makes me think of the standard after charging crazy amounts. Anyway I hope they get their act together and offer better service. Anyway we had a good laugh and enjoyed the evening.

  8. I went out to dinner with a friend last week. We had the first course and then waited an entire hour for the second course. I felt a little grumpy.

    Love,

  11. The place looks really nice. I hope you passed on to management these issues as it is to their benefit to correct these issues and provide to their customers the care and service befitting the environment they've created.
Sorry you keep running into these disappointments when you've planned and paid for a nice evening out. Hopefully the company of your friends made up for these restaurants faux pas.

  12. Yes it is true that hotels undergoing renovation tend to have less than average services. I've encountered that too. Fortunately the view and company saved the night.
